The Michael Head Two Pieces is a Flute Ensemble arrangement from his original "Three Pieces" for Oboe and Piano. As each Flute Ensemble has a different balance of players low to high, I have marked parts in the lower flutes that need to be heard, either "mf" or forte, with the idea that those parts can always be heard, and if they can’t be heard at the forte level, then the other softer parts will need to adjust even softer. Sometimes these issues are in melody/counter melody sections, and sometimes only for a bar at transitions.
