Sonata II, mvt. 1 Allegro - Giacchino Rossini (arr. Dr. Raymond Pancost)
Gioacchino Rossini (1792-1868) - Sonata II in A Major (Allegro-movement one)
Sonata II is one of 6 Sonata's for 2 violins, cello, and double bass.
Rossini's six string sonatas were written and composed in just three days during the summer of 1804 when the Italian composer was just twelve years old; this was at a time when he had barely begun instruction in composition at a music school in Bologna.. These 6 sonatas, his first compositions, were performed under the backing of a rich patron in 1804. The sonatas are melodic and engaging.
Dr. Raymond Pancost
