Forest Stories was commissioned by the Song of the Angels Flute Orchestra to be premiered at the 2019 National Flute Convention in Salt Lake City, UT. It’s four movements represent four aspects of, you guessed it, a forest. I wanted to make sure to cover some things not necessarily covered in your typical picture of a forest. Rivers are not normally thought of in the context of a forest, but is included here. Also generally neglected are the creepy crawlies of the forest, hence movement two. Then we go to the more traditional aspects of the Trees and the Birds.
